Hello

Hello, I'm Dr. Jamie Sherman, a licensed clinical psychologist based in Boca Raton, Florida. I specialize in anxiety, OCD, depression, habit and tic disorders, body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), disruptive behavior problems, and co-morbid ASD and ADHD. I work directly with children, adolescents, families, and adults to help them learn strategies to better handle strong emotions. For toddlers and preschoolers with disruptive behavior disorders, selective mutism, or other forms of anxiety, I typically work directly with caregivers to teach and/or coach them in helpful parenting strategies to manage their child's emotional or behavioral concerns. I offer many evidence-based treatments, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT)

  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and PCIT-CALM

  • Unified Protocols

  • Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)

My Story

I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Cornell University and later went on to receive my M.S. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Miami (UM). I completed my clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine within the Pediatrics Department.

I am an author on the Unified Protocols for Children (UP-C) and Adolescents (UP-A), specialized transdiagnostic treatment programs for children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, OCD, and related disorders. As a certified trainer for the UP-C and UP-A, I provide training and consultation on these treatments as well. I was Certified as a Parent-child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) therapist in 2017 and as a Level I Trainer in PCIT in 2019. I am also trained in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), a parent-directed treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems.

I have met all requirements and have obtained an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) from the PSYPACT Commission. By obtaining this authorization, this serves to show that I have met all requirements to be eligible to provide interjurisdictional services under the authority of PSYPACT | APIT Number: 15848.

I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, OCD, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, childhood behavior problems, Selective Mutism, Tic Disorders, and Trichotillomania. I conduct psychosocial evaluations and provide Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and see children, adolescents, and adults.

I have authored and co-authored numerous articles, book chapters, and books in the area of child and adolescent treatment outcomes and have presented findings at national conferences.
